If resumes count, someone has said, Nancy Soderberg https://soderbergforcongress.com/ would be elected to anything she wanted. She is impressive.
Currently — President and CEO of Soderberg Global Solutions and Director of the Public Service Leadership Program at the University of North Florida.Soderberg is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a regular commentator on national and international television and radio. She is the author of numerous articles on American foreign policy and two books: “The Prosperity Agenda” (2008) written with Brian Katulis, and the Superpower Myth (2005)Formerly — Deputy National Security Advisor to President Clinton, senior advisor to Senator Edward Kennedy. President Obama appointed her as Chair of the Public Interest Declassification Board (2011-2014). She has also served as President of Connect U.S. Fund, as Vice President of the International Crisis Group, and on the Board of the Jacksonville Port Authority. Born on Nantucket, she received her BA from Vanderbilt and an MS from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service
Can she run for office? Soderberg was unsuccessful running for the state legislature in a very Republican district. She ran ahead of other Democrats on the ballot.
Does she have roots in the district? Soderberg was born in Nantucket and lived in Washington and New York. For the last ten years, she has lived in Jacksonville. When her mother, who was still living in Nantucket, needed care and support from one of her children, she came to Jacksonville. where her daughter was. Nancy Soderberg cared for her mother in Jacksonville until she died last year.
What about family besides her mother? She was married briefly and unfortunately. Her husband of four years, Richard Bistrong was fired by then Jacksonville-based Armor Holdings after being charged with conspiring to induce officials at the United Nations and foreign officials to award contracts to his Jacksonville company.
What does Soderberg do for fun? Work. She wants to work some more. She is running for Florida’s sixth Congressional District a district the incumbent won by 17 points in 2016. The incumbent is nevertheless, vulnerable. Soderberg is at work — outlining why he is vulnerable.
- Soderberg sees the tenor of the political conversation as having changed in Jacksonville and the nation.
- Soderberg was “baffled” and angered by the incumbent’s vote on health care, his vote and the votes of other Republicans to remove 23 million people from health insurance and to raise insurance premiums for people over 50.

In Florida’s Sixth Congressional District, Nancy Soderberg is touting her capacity for hard work on behalf of her constituents and the expertise she can use on their behalf.
