2018       General Election      Elected 54 — 43

Competent, likeable, and a lot more.

Emily’s List recruited her. Often it’s the other way round. Candidates ask Emily’s List for support. Eleven years in one of Pennsylvania’s larger law firms. Nineteen as a partner in a smaller firm, tiny by Philadelphia or Washington standards.  Thirty lawyers, big for Allentown.

Still a partner in her law firm, Susan Wild https://wildforcongress.com/ served for three years as Allentown City Solicitor. A civic duty  became complicated. The mayor for over a decade was convicted of accepting bribes in exchange for campaign contributions — a sad case of an apparently once idealistic politician enmeshing himself in the system.

The federal prosecutor has endorsed Susan Wild ‘s run for Congress. Susan Wild had been City Solicitor for six months when a search warrant for the city was issued. She was responsible for collecting the required documents and turning them over the the FBI. The prosecutor described a culture of corruption in the city that Susan Wild reversed: working under difficult circumstances, maintaining her independence, and producing the evidence needed by the state. The prosecutor described her as someone who “exudes honesty, integrity and independence. The old culture was characterized by “perjury, destruction of evidence, and lies to the FBI.” Susan Wild had a tough three years in Allentown.

Serving in Congress would be just another challenge. Susan Wild says she is “running for Congress because [her] advocacy skills can be used to restore order and dignity in our government, and because advocating for others has been my lifelong passion.” People in Allentown believe her.

Were it not for the City Solicitor experience, Susan Wild would be a distinguished attorney, a community leader. Impressive. The following paragraphs describe how impressive she is. But it is the City Solicitor experience that tested her.

Susan Wild has been honored by the Governor, by the Lehigh Valley Business Council. She was named one of Pennsylvania’s top 50 women attorneys. She has been named a Super Lawyer several times. She is on the Board of Directors of the Second Harvest Food Bank, the Program for Women and Families, the Jewish Federation of Lehigh Valley, and the Civic Theater of Allentown. Susan Wild has had tough and interesting cases in her career. Her firm describes her as having represented health care practitioners and hospitals, municipalities and public officials, having handled cases that addressed personal injury, employment, and civil rights. It is the City Solicitor experience that tested her. Her success as Allentown City Solicitor distinguishes her.

When Susan Wild describes what she supports, she describes: *Improving the economy through support of unions and innovation. *Support of seniors by sustaining social security and Medicare. *Support of healthcare by making insurance coverage universal and by solving the opioid crisis. *Support of equality by ensuring that members of the LGBTQ community have the same rights as everyone else and strengthening protections for women including the right to choose *Support the environment by returning to the Paris Accords, requiring the release of information about FRACing, and banning FRACing on public lands. *Reform the criminal justice system by abolishing private prisons, ensuring equality of treatment in place of racial bias, legalize cannabis, end the war on drugs, and address gun violence through common sense reforms Reform There is more — a lot more.

Susan Wild https://wildforcongress.com/ has demonstrated that she is more than a capable and likeable attorney. She is able to work with integrity and intelligence and a commitment to the public good.
