Purewal ran for Hamilton County Clerk against incumbent Tracy Winkler — and won.
……Purewal is running for Congress. I could not write a better profile of Purewal than the one written in Cincinnati Magazine by Jim DeBrosse during the County Clerk Campaign. He quotes Purewal’s girlfriend Wendy Whititis describing Purewal as an All-American boy.

……Aftab Purewal is not focusing on issues. His website says nothing about issues. Elsewhere, AftabPurewalis clear enough. He is running against Trump, Trump’s Washington, and the incumbent’s support for Trump. Aftab Purewal condemns the Trump tax law and the effort to eliminate the Affordable Care Act. Aftab Purewal is socially and economically progressive and also reminds people he saved nearly a million dollars for the County Clerk’s office.

The incumbent, Steve Chabot, has been beaten twice. He lost in in 1988. He lost in 2008 when Obama was elected. A persistent man, he came back in 2000 when GW Bush was elected and in the Republican wave of 2010. In 2018, Chabot might accept losing.
