Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi were both persnickety on December 5
Joe got mad at an Iowa questioner. Nancy got mad at a reporter.
Think about how they were the same, and how they were different. After Nancy Pelosi announced instructions to the Judiciary Committee to draft articles of impatient, a Sinclair reporter asked: Do you hate Trump? He got an earful in return and so did we.
Pelosi explain her Catholic upbringing precluded hating anyone. She prayed for the president, she said. She added the President was cruel and a coward; a coward for his failure to help kids who were afraid of gun violence and cruel in his failure to assist the Dreamers. Furthermore, she explained issues and the climate crisis were what the 2020 election is for. Impeachment is addressing Trump violating the constitution. Trump eventually responded. He thought it unlikely that Pelosi prayed for him as she said she does.
Joe Biden was asked if he got his son his job as a board member in Ukraine to profit from his son’s role. He responded by calling the questioner a “damn liar.” He insisted no one had made such a claim. Having finally found a handle to interrupt the narrative that he is too old and uncertain to be President, he challenged his inquisitor to competitive push ups and competitive intelligence tests.
Democrats welcome the belligerence of both Pelosi and Biden. Do we appreciate the different levels of sophistication of their responses?
