A correspondent asks me:

Are Caucasions the root of all evil?  Is every transgression and iniquity the fault of White people.

I tell him that no one is seeking revenge but evil that has been done.  I make a list.

  • Slavery (from the slave trade to slavery itself),
  • Secession by the Southern States to form a separate country that would preserve slavery (including the evils tha went along with slavery ranging from rape to humiliations to whipping to the actual fact of bondage),
  • The agreement between Republicans and Democrats to end Reconstruction (to end Northern interference in the South’s maintaining dominance over Blacks, a feat achieved through violence and through theft)
  • The imposition of Jim Crow (the South’s imposition of apartheid on Black’s — separate and certainly not equal, Including prohibition of a political life for Blacks and enforcement through terror — violcence, lynching.
  • Discrimination in the North, to which Blacks escaped, including real estate redlining which deprived Blacks of the increase in wealth through property value increases that benefited so many Whites.

I tell him these are evils and I ask:  What has been the impact of these evils on America and Americans?  Do you think there has been no impact?  Or do you think there has been an impact, but there is no obligation to ameliorate the impact?

His answer.  He was highlighting hypocricy.
