Like many New Yorkers, Jackie Gordon is an immigrant. She was born in Jamaica. The West Indies not Queens. She was a single mom, has a son who still lives with her and a daughter who is a Captain in the US Air Force.

I was a delegate to the Judicial Convention. We nominated Democratic candidates for the New York Supreme Court. Sounds grand. It was kind of grand. These are judges in New York’s trial court. Those elected preside in the trial courts for Manhattan – 1.5 million people here.
In 2018, New York City elected two new Members of Congress. Both from Outer Boroughs -- AOC and Max Rose.
Anthony Brndisi is a builder. As a member of the Utica School Board, he built new schools. As a state representative, he helped build a new hospital in Utica, helped create a nano technology center at SUNY Polytechnic, and fostered cyber security research and development elsewhere in his district.
Jessica Ramos is an organizer and activist in Queens, NY. She has created a campaign for the state Senate that focuses on what would have passed with a Democratic majority in the Senate. She asserts that the parental leave and minimum wage increases would have just been a beginning had Democrats controlled the Senate.
Antonio Delgado earned a Rhodes Scholarship at Colgage. Oxford then Harvard Law School. He spent five years in Los Angeles creating a hip hop record label and recording rap that was committed to social justice. He went on to practice law for Aikin, Gump, moved to upstate New York where his wife was from and where he is running for Congress, hoping to be one of the rare African Americans to represent an overwhelmingly white district.
Teacher and librarian, Julie Goldberg is neither apolitical nor focused on New Jersey. Her local cultural interests are in New York. She is a board member and editor for River River -- a New York community arts organization. She is a founding member of the Hungry Hollow Coalition. This New York community improvement group sponsors fund raising musicals and helps the homeless. It contests zoning issues and supports candidates. The Coalition does the candidate supporting bit in New York and does quite a lot of it. Goldberg is a beneficiary of that support in her run for the State Senate.
