The response to the bribery scandal has been dramatic. Some people will go to jail. Some parents. Some coaches.
Are you a school teacher or administrator? Do you oversee state test administration? Did you offer help to a kid taking a test? The kind of help you would ordinarily offer to a kid taking a test? But not the kind of help you can offer during a state test.
What happened in Georgia was not that kind of help. Went past the boundaries. The response in Georgia was draconian. Teachers went to jail. Administrators went to jail.
Were you in finance in 2007? In 2008? How did the financial collapse affect you? What about all those failed mortgage? Were bankers just helping people out? Was this a criminal enterprise? No one went to jail.
Boeing hurried through procedures getting the 707 Max planes out. Did that hurrying contribute to the plane crashes? To people dying? Will anyone go to jail?
Donald Trump inflated the value of his property when that suited his interest; reduced its value when a lower value suited his interest. Fraud? Will he go to jail?
His minions did go to jail? Manafort, for one. Will Donald Trump pardon him? Others? Himself? We should learn about this in December 2020.
White collar crime? Corrupting parents go to jail. Teachers go to jail. Not bankers. Not corporate leaders. Probably not Presidents. Maybe those who did their bidding?
