Ninety seven legislators to advise Trump on Opening up American Again.

This is Donald Trump creating the Congress he’d like to have.  He says it will provide guidance to the Governors on how to reignite the economy and on the following:  the need for additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program, the international and domestic supply chains, ways to energize the economy, surprise medical billing, clarifying the difference between essential and non-essential workers, mental health, and relief for small businesses as well as access  to COVID-19 diagnostic and anti-body tests, ventilators, face masks, and other PPE.

How were they selected?  It is hard to say, but the announcement noted:  the positive feedback from the Members about the work that the Administration is doing to keep America healthy and prosperous, and thanked them for their participation.  Presumably, each of these Members of Congress praised the President at least once.

Really, though, even if this group never meets, it is the Congress that Trump wishes he had.  No Nancy Pelosi.  No Chuck Schumer.  No Adam Schiff.  No AOC, of course.  By the way:  No Mitt Romney.  Also, the guy who will be the top vote getter in Georgia, dropping the current Republican Senator out of the race, who ran against Trump’s will, Representative Doug Collins.  He’s not there either.  The Congress that Trump wishes he had.
