Robert Mueller seems like the kind of coach who is renowned for not appearing excited when he is winning and not appearing discouraged when he is not. We should all be that way in connection with the investigations of Trump.  With Sunday’s Attorney General Letter to Congress, we get the very beginning of Mueller’s Report.

There is a little hierarchy we should consider regarding the Letter.

  1. Mueller’s Report is quoted in Barr’s Letter to Congress as saying that the investigation did not “establish” Trump campaign coordination or conspiracy with the Russians who were seeking to support the Trump election.
  2. Barr, in the Letter to Congress, says the investigation did not “find” the Trump campaign or any one associated with it conspired or coordinated with the Russians.
  3. Trump reacts to the Letter (according to the Boston Globe) – “it was just announced there was no collusion with Russia — the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard,” Trump said. “There was no collusion with Russia. There was no obstruction, none whatsoever, and it was a complete and total exoneration.”

Go with the most cautious language until Congress and others finish the rest of the investigations.
