Zing. Amy Klobuchar’s presidential candidacy has been dogged by a discussion of what a terrible boss she is. She is picky. She complains about small failures. She expects perfection. She humiliates staffers who fall short. She changes her mind. She has absorbed those complaints.

With Sherrod Brown out of the race, she is the Midwestern candidate. Those complaints? They remain, but they don’t overwhelm.

Want a pathological boss to talk about? Donald Trump’s the man. “It’s not my fault” Trump. His staff has a true purpose. He can blame them. There is nothing petty about Trump’s complaints. He is not as popular as he should be. It’s the press’s fault. He is not getting legislation passed. It’s Congress’s fault. He does not get what he wants. It is his staff’s fault.

Trump is different from Amy Klobuchar. Pathological. Trump’s relationship with his staff degrades his presidency. It degrades the country.
